Russell R. Williams III, known as Roosevelte, is a public servant, business owner, and dedicated community member of Little Rock, AR. With a deep commitment to nonprofit work and education, Roosevelte has spent nearly a decade actively engaging and serving his community. His journey began at Philander Smith University, where he represented the school as a White House Initiative on HBCUs HBCU All-Star and held the position of Student Government Association President.

 

Roosevelte's passion for community development led him to roles such as Corporate and Community Outreach Development Officer and Director of Programs for the Urban League of the State of Arkansas. During this time, he also worked as an Outreach Coordinator for a Little Rock-based nonprofit organization called Life Skills for Youth. In 2021, Roosevelte founded his own business, R.'s Creative Solutions, LLC, providing invaluable assistance in proposal writing, grant management, and community engagement to nonprofits across Arkansas.

With a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies, concentrating in Political Science, from Philander Smith College, Roosevelte has equipped himself with the knowledge and understanding necessary to bring about positive change. He further honed his skills with a Proposal Writing and Grant Management Certificate from the University of Indiana's Lilly School of Philanthropy.

 

Roosevelte is not only committed to professional growth but also to civic engagement. He is a graduate of the Arkansas Chapter of New Leaders Council and has completed programs such as the 100 Black Men of America's National Leadership Institute and the Junior League Little Rock Non-profit Board Institute. Additionally, he has been appointed to the City of Little Rock's Community Housing Advisory Board (CHAB) and is an AmeriCorps Alum through City Year Little Rock.

As an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., The Pi Lambda Chapter, Roosevelte serves as the Treasurer and Grants and Programs for the 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock. His contributions to the community have been recognized, including receiving the Democratic Party of Arkansas 2019 Emerging Leader Award. He is also a member of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce and has been identified as a member of the Arkansas Business 2022 Cohort of Top 20 In Their 20s.

 

Roosevelte is running for State Representative to amplify the voices of Arkansans. He aims to bridge the divide through strategic bipartisanship while staying true to the values that matter to the people. Roosevelte is keen on addressing the challenges arising from limited economic opportunities that lead young professionals to seek career prospects elsewhere. He advocates for strategic investments in financial stability from employers and community leaders. Additionally, he aims to support aspiring entrepreneurs by fostering an environment that provides proper support and incubation for small businesses. Ultimately, Roosevelte envisions an equitable, safe, and encouraging future for the Natural State.

R. Roosevelte Williams III will strategically utilize his experience in the higher education, the non-profit sector, his small business, and community engagement fields to foster a supportive and informed ecosystem within District 80. This will include:

 

-Community centered opportunities to provide legislative updates

-Host neighborhood association convenings to discuss land usage

-Create a roundtable of educators from District 80 schools to discuss needs and best practices for our students
